War in Tigray

According to our reports at Health and Wholeness Ethiopia (HAWE), we have gathered that the war in Tigray has afflicted more than 300,000 locals in Ethiopia. The conflict has killed thousands of civilians and has dismantled families since November 2020.

It all started when the Tigrayan security forces attacked ENDF Northern Command bases and headquarters in the region. ENDF decided to counterattack Tigrayan security forces, which were labeled as “law enforcement operations” by Prime Minister Abiy.

Impact on The Locals

The civil conflict in Tigray has turned the entire infrastructure of civilian life on its head. According to our assessments and reports, approximately 4.5 million people in Tigray require immediate assistance since more than 2.5 million are displaced.

Our data indicates extensive loss of livelihoods and a breakdown of the healthcare system since it is found that the government and terrorist organizations have massively violated the basic human rights of civilians. The following are some key consequences that have been impacted due to the conflicts arising in the Tigray Region.

  • Sexual Violence
  • Ethnic-Based Targeted Attacks
  • Large-Scale Looting
  • Shortage of Water, Food, and Health Care
  • Limitations to Schooling

Contributions of HAWE

HAWE is an Ethiopian residing not-for-profit, a non-governmental, non-religious charity organization that aims to assist the civilians in reducing Ethiopia’s socioeconomic and environmental issues. We offer a special focus on less fortunate children, mothers, and teenage girls. War has indeed ravaged Ethiopia’s northernmost regions.

To ensure the safety of teenage girls of Tigray, we have issued a program focused on improving the psychological conditions of girls by providing them with the necessary training and education in order for them to adapt to a better, safe, and sound life. Furthermore, HAWE also supports families that are unable to afford necessities.

HAWE has introduced a plethora of programs, each of which focuses on a specific issue and is designed to resolve it so the people of Tigray can live a life free of hassle leading them towards a self-sufficient and peaceful tomorrow.

To help the 300,000 locals affected by the civil war taking place in Tigray and other regions of Ethiopia, HAWE is also bringing campaigns calling for sanitary products and other women’s supplies to be sent to Tigray under your charitable donations. These include food, sanitary products, healthcare products and medicine, and other forms of relief such as direct cash that will help the residents of Tigray sustain their lifestyles in a land that provides little to no livelihood.
